Suggestions for Summer Learning

Here are some great ways to keep your brain sharp for Grade 3!

 

Reading

Read for 10-30 minutes every day.  Talk with a grown-up about what you are reading.

Use I-ready Reading 3-5 times a week.  (Available through August 7.)

 

Math

Use I-ready Math 3-5 times a week.  (Available through August 7.)

Complete any unfinished math activity pages and explain them to a grown-up.

Play games with addition/subtraction flash cards 1-2 times a week.

Play games with Splash Math.

 

Writing

Write in your journal 2-3 times a week.

 

Science/Social Studies

Read Scholastic News online.

Visit the RMSC/Planetarium website and try the suggested activities and experiments.

Visit the Genesee Country Village website to watch videos and try activities.

Virtually visit the zoo.  Some favorites include the Smithsonian National Zoological Park, the San Diego Zoo and the Cincinnati Zoo.  Check out their animal webcams!
